quite the public venue

Lately I've been working on some projects that are a bit larger in scope that any I worked on last term. I will tell you about those soon. But, just for fun, I decided to collaborate a little with Stephanie, my wife, in what is has become a small conceptual and social exercise.

The window of our kitchen is what everyone coming into our apartment complex sees as they approach the main door. We have tried talking to some of our neighbors but no one really seems too keen on conversation so we are letting them into a small part of our private lives by posting one of three different signs - each sign describing the state of our dishes: clean, dirty, or in the process of being cleaned. Now our neighbors know if our dishes are clean or not and they will be informed as to how often we clean them; they now have a window into our lives and know something about us that may or may not be of any interest to them. It's kind of like a computerless blog. Additionally, Stephanie and I have greater incentive to keep our dishes clean. The pictures above are thumbnails, click them for a larger image.

On another note: I've been selling a lot of my ideas on eBay and am considering raising the prices soon. You can see and access my auctions on the right hand column of my blog.
